New from PROPLATE: More Finishes, More Combinations, More Creative Control
If you’ve been speccing PROPLATE into your builds for a while, you’ll know it for one thing: the classic Satin Black checkerplate that’s become a staple on caravans and camper trailers across the country. Tough, lightweight, ISO9001-certified, and finished in automotive powder coat, it does exactly what it says on the tin.
But we’ve had a lot of feedback from builders wanting more flexibility in how their builds look. So we’ve expanded the PROPLATE range, and we think you’re going to find a lot more to work with.
What's new in the PROPLATE range
Checkerplate Satin Black
Checkerplate Satin Black is the original PROPLATE finish and still the most versatile in the range. The 5-bar checkerplate pattern on a smooth satin black powder coat works across virtually any build style, and it’s available in both 1.4mm (2400 x 1200mm) and 1.6mm (2400 x 900mm).
Checkerplate Satin Monument
Checkerplate Satin Monument brings the same 5-bar pattern in a smooth monument grey powder coat, available in 1.4mm at 2400 x 1200mm. If your clients are leaning into the modern grey look that’s popular right now, this pairs cleanly with a lot of colour palettes.
Checkerplate Textured Black
Checkerplate Textured Black keeps the classic checkerplate profile but adds a rough-textured powder coat surface for extra grip and added durability in high-contact areas. Available in both 1.4mm and 1.6mm across 2400 x 1200mm and 2400 x 900mm formats.
Flat Textured Black
Flat Textured Black is a flat profile with a deep rough-textured black finish. Available in 1.6mm at 2400 x 1200mm. This one opens up some interesting options for builders who want the durability of PROPLATE without the raised checkerplate pattern.
Matching PROPLATE with PROBOND Ultra
PROBOND Ultra is our aluminium composite cladding range, available in an extensive palette of colours and finishes, and widely used for the main body panels of caravans and camper trailers. Where Ultra gives you a clean, smooth wall surface, PROPLATE gives you the structural cladding detail: lower skirts, nose cones, stone guards, and corner protection.
With Monument, Textured Black, and Flat Textured Black now in the mix, there’s a lot more room to make deliberate finish decisions.
A few combinations worth considering:
Satin Black or Textured Black PROPLATE continues to work with virtually any Ultra colour. It’s a neutral that reads as purposeful rather than default, particularly on darker colourways.
Monument PROPLATE sits naturally alongside cooler Ultra tones (greys, silvers, whites, and muted earth tones) for a cohesive, contemporary look that doesn’t rely on contrast.
Flat Textured Black gives builders a clean, utilitarian option in areas where the checkerplate pattern would create visual noise, while keeping a consistent look.
